Douglas Gundermann is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in San Diego, California. Douglas works closely with high-net-worth individuals, including business owners, entrepreneurs and generations of families to help them optimize their wealth. By identifying and understanding a client's primary financial goals and needs, Douglas and his team coordinate local resources and the national capabilities of Bank of America Enterprise to help clients reach their short and longer-term objectives. He leads a team of Bank of America Private Bank specialists who work in concert to combine the client experience of a boutique private bank with access to extensive resources, including traditional, specialty asset, alternative*, and capital market investment solutions, as well as customized credit and banking offering. Doug also provides guidance around matters pertaining to personal philanthropy with solutions that can help a client or family to build a legacy associated with their wealth into the future.
Douglas has worked in the financial services industry for 20 years. Prior to joining Bank of America Private Bank, he served as Private Wealth Advisor at Union Bank Private Bank helping give him experience and insight into the wealth management needs of high-net-worth individuals and families. Previously, he was a Private Wealth Advisor with US Bank Private Wealth Management.
Douglas obtained a master’s degree in international business and banking from National University. He received his bachelor’s degree from California University-Sacramento in business administration, concentration finance. Since 2014 he has held the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.
He currently serves on The Salvation Army San Diego Metropolitan Advisory Board since 2018. He also serves on the McGrath YMCA’s Advisory Council in East County San Diego since 2017.
Douglas enjoys spending time with his family. They enjoy traveling, golf, swimming and volunteering in the local community. When Douglas is not working or with family he likes to play golf on one of San Diego’s many fantastic golf course.
