Professional Profile

W. Matthew Lynn is a Vice President and Private Client Advisor at Bank of America Private Bank, based in Western Connecticut. In his role, he leads a wealth management team of specialists, and actively engages clients to maintain a thorough understanding of their financial health and purpose of their wealth. He provides clients with relevant and timely information to ensure they understand the complexities of their financial situation. He then works with his clients and his team of specialists to provide holistic strategies in investment management, estate planning, wealth preservation, philanthropy, cash-flow management, credit and strategic wealth transfer. Matt has many ultra-high-net-worth families as clients, and he also enjoys working with entrepreneurs and business owners, as he was formally one himself.

Matt also has the connections and network within Bank of America to be able to call on other expertise with the bank. He especially values the in-depth knowledge and experience of the Wealth Strategists, who can help clients create complex estate plans, or prepare clients to work with their attorneys and CPAs, solving some of the more complicated issues they face, and minimizing the billable hours they spend with those partners.

Matt joined Bank of America in 2014, and in his previous role as a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch Wealth Mangement, he helped high-net-worth clients with investments, banking, credit and general planning and advocacy.
Prior to joining the financial services industry, Matt owned a small retail business for twelve years, with an emphasis on client service. Previously, Matt held corporate positions in editing, marketing and new business development, and held a Connecticut Real Estate License.

Matt currently serves as a Trustee of the modern dance company Pilobolus, which performs internationally and engages in educational programming. Matt also volunteers on committees in wildlife and land preservation organizations, and participates in charity events for cancer research and other non-profit organizations.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Maryland, College Park.
