Jim Kemp is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Manager with Bank of America Private Bank, in the Philanthropic and Family Office Group in St. Louis, Missouri. Jim works closely with nonprofit organizations, foundations and endowments, and high net worth families to help address a range of financial priorities and needs. He leads a team of in-house specialists who collaborate to advance tailored initiatives in institutional endowment administration, nonprofit management, family philanthropy and other services.
As an active volunteer with many arts, education, and social service organizations in the St. Louis area, Jim enjoys helping institutional clients heighten effectiveness and fulfill desired missions through thoughtful strategy. Aspiring to be a trusted advisor to families, he works with multiple professionals to pursue clients’ philanthropic interests, establish meaningful personal legacies, and to help address unique challenges. Jim brings a genuine interest in helping each client to deploy and manage their resources, pursue their mission, and enjoy more interesting and rewarding lives for themselves, their business interests, and the people and causes they cherish.
Since 1988, Jim has focused on nonprofit and leadership development. Prior to joining Bank of America Private Bank, he was the Director of Advancement at John Burroughs School, where he led its capital and endowment campaigns, gift and estate planning initiatives, and alumni relations efforts. Previously, he served as Associate Director of Development at the University of Missouri- St. Louis. His career also includes tenures with KETC Channel 9 Public Television and Eden Theological Seminary.
A St. Louis native, Jim earned his B.S.B.A. in marketing from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He volunteers with Doorways, an inter faith non-profit which provides housing for people living with HIV/AIDS, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra Legacy Advisors, and Arts and Faith St. Louis, among other causes. Jim and his family live in Ladue, Missouri.
